Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson could make his Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) debut this season, with Rajshahi Warriors reportedly in discussions with him, a trusted source confirmed to Cricfrenzy.

Williamson is currently playing for Durban Super Giants in the SA20, where he has scored 110 runs in 7 matches at a strike rate of 120.27, with a highest score of 40. Despite not finding much form with the bat, Rajshahi is keen to bring him for the first qualifier of the BPL.

His participation, however, depends on Durban’s progression to the Super Four.

The team has managed just 3 wins in 10 matches and sits 4th with 19 points. Their playoff fate depends on the result of Johannesburg Super Kings vs. Paarl Royals, and if Durban doesn’t make the top four, Williamson could join the BPL straight from the qualifier.

Meanwhile, Sylhet Titans are also actively strengthening their squad ahead of the BPL knockouts, having already signed Chris Woakes, with Sam Billings set to join soon and discussions ongoing with English opener Phil Salt.
