Despite setting a daunting target of 184 runs, Bangladesh were eliminated from the Asia Cup by Sri Lanka, winning by two wickets to qualify for the Super 4 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium Thursday.
Sri Lanka were the second side from Group B, behind group winners Afghanistan, to qualify for the Super 4, while the Tigers were eliminated.
Bangladesh fans, who flocked to Dubai once more to cheer for their team, were met with anguish, and skipper Shakib Al Hasan stated that he felt sorry for them.

"We feel sorry for our fans. Everywhere we go, we get such superb support. I hope they will continue to support us in the coming days," Shakib said during the post-match presentation ceremony.

Many of these supporters have flown to the desert country to watch the game. Many are UAE emigrants, many came from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and other cities to watch the game.
Bangladesh had only themselves to blame for their demise, as poor bowling and fielding cost the Tigers awfully.
Their bowlers conceded 17 extras, including eight wides and four no balls, which made a significant difference, especially considering Sri Lanka conceded no extras at all.
