Bangladesh team will leave Dhaka for Dubai this evening to participate in the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, pacer Taskin Ahmed and opener Anamul Haque Bijoy are set to leave tomorrow [Wednesday] due to visa issues.
The Tigers will start their Asia Cup 2022 mission taking on Afghanistan in the tournament’s third match on 30th August [Tuesday] under new T20I skipper Shakib al Hasan at Sharjah stadium. The team will leave Dhaka by a flight of Bangladesh Biman around 5:20 pm.
Bangladesh will also play against Sri Lanka in their second Group B match on September 1st in Dubai.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finally made it clear yesterday that head coach Russell Domingo will guide the national team only in Test and ODIs.

Young Tigers defend U19 Asia Cup title after beating India

The charge of the T20I team has been handed to the newly appointed technical consultant Sridharan Sriram.
Former Indian cricketer Sriram is not the head coach but will guide Bangladesh in major events in the form of the Asia Cup T20 and the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia in October-November.
Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates will battle it out in the four-team round-robin style tournament, with the winning country earning a spot in Group A with Pakistan and India.
The top two teams from each group will proceed to the tournament's second phase - the Super Four round.
The top two teams in the Super Four points table will play the tournament finale at Dubai International Stadium on September 11.
