Abahani clinch DPL title after beating Mohammedan in final-day showdown

Mohammedan Sporting Club beat Brothers Union by 54 runs in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at the BKSP-4 Ground, Savar on Tuesday.
Defending 207, Mohammedan thumped Brothers on 152 in 43.3 overs. Shuvagata Hom was the pick of the bowling attack, taking five wickets conceding 25 runs in his 8.3 overs.
Imtiaz Hossain top-scored with 42 runs facing 65 balls aided by three boundaries and a six. Aminul Isalm Biplob (36) and Dhiman Ghosh (32) played brief innings in the middle.

Following the dismissal of the duo, Brothers kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually crashed on 152 runs.
Earlier, Mohammedan posted 206 runs losing all wickets after being invited to bat first. Rony Talukder and Mohammad Hafeez put on a 72-run partnership after early setback.
However, Hafeez was also perished after scoring 28 runs and Rony departed on 58 just reaching the 100-run mark. Then Zahiduzzaman Khan played a knock of 41 runs off 64 deliveries to propel the side cross 200 runs.
Mohammad Ashraful picked up a fifer, while Abu Haider Rony took a couple of wickets for Brothers.
In another Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club turned victorious against Shinepukur.
