The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed the sanction in a statement. Bangladesh captain Towhid Hridoy accepted the charge and the proposed penalty, meaning there was no need for a formal hearing.
Zimbabwe posted 271 runs after being put in to bat, with Craig Ervine and Brendan Taylor leading the way. However, Bangladesh failed to complete their 50 overs within the stipulated time and were found to be one over short.
The offence falls under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with minimum over-rate offences. Under the regulations, players are fined 5 percent of their match fee for every over their side falls short of the required rate.
On-field umpires Allahudien Paleker and Ijazatullah Safi, third umpire Ahsan Raza and fourth umpire Ahmed Shah Durrani levelled the charge. Match referee David Gilbert subsequently imposed the sanction, which Hridoy accepted.
