According to the sources, the two trophies will remain in Pakistan and India will eventually have to receive them from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi.
The development comes after India’s men’s and women’s teams declined to collect their respective Asia Cup trophies from Naqvi during the official presentation ceremonies.
India won the 2025 men’s Asia Cup and the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup but did not receive the trophies from Naqvi, who is also chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Sources said the trophies are now in Pakistan and that India will have to collect them from Naqvi when the handover takes place.
The trophy issue has remained unresolved since last year’s men’s Asia Cup, while the same situation was repeated after India’s women won the title earlier this month.
However, recent public comments from BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia indicated that the trophies were still at the ACC headquarters in Dubai and would eventually reach the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.
