Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana suffered an injury during the second T20I against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Friday, raising concerns ahead of the series decider.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed in a video update that the 23-year-old speedster experienced discomfort in the left side of his body while bowling.

National team physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam said the medical staff advised Nahid not to continue after he reported the pain.

Nahid had produced the best T20I bowling figures of his career in the opening match of the series. However, in the second game, he was forced to leave the field after bowling 2.3 overs, during which he claimed 1 wicket for 15 runs.

Providing an update after the match, Bayjedul Islam said: "Nahid Rana complained of pain on the left side of his body during today's match. As a precaution, we decided not to let him bowl any further. He will be monitored, and if necessary, a scan will be conducted in the morning. A clearer timeline for his return will be known after further assessment."

Nahid's availability for the third and deciding T20I will depend on the results of the medical assessment.

After this series, Bangladesh will travel to Australia for next month's two-match Test series.
