Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been ruled out of the remainder of the Zimbabwe tour after sustaining a right hamstring injury, with the left-armer also expected to miss the opening phase of The Hundred later this month.

Mustafizur will miss the final ODI and all three T20Is against Zimbabwe after scans confirmed a Grade 1 tear in his right hamstring. Bangladesh team physio Bayjedul Islam said the pacer is expected to be sidelined for around four weeks and could return to action towards the end of July.

"Mustafizur suffered an injury to the back of his right leg while bowling in the first ODI. A scan conducted on July 7 revealed a Grade 1 tear in his right hamstring," Bayjedul said in a video message released by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

"He also has some meniscal degeneration in the same knee. We expect his recovery to take around four weeks. He will return to Bangladesh to begin his rehabilitation."

The injury is also expected to delay Mustafizur's debut in The Hundred, despite receiving a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the BCB to play the entire tournament.

The left-arm pacer was signed by Birmingham Phoenix for his £100,000 base price and is set to become the first Bangladeshi cricketer to feature in England's 100-ball competition.

Bangladesh were also without Mustafizur in the second ODI, where they lost by 13 runs after failing to chase Zimbabwe's 247, conceding the series 2-0. The Tigers had earlier lost the opening ODI by 25 runs.
