Zadran had been battling Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare and severe immune system disorder, and had been receiving treatment in India's Delhi-NCR region for the past few months.
Although he initially responded to treatment, he suffered a relapse and could not recover.
Paying tribute, the Afghanistan Cricket Board said Zadran served the national team with "honour, courage and pride," adding that his contributions would remain an important part of the country's cricket history.
One of the pioneers of Afghanistan cricket, Zadran represented his country across formats and inspired a generation of young cricketers through his determination and fighting spirit.
