Australia have unveiled revamped squads for their upcoming white-ball tours of Pakistan and Bangladesh, with teenage batter Oliver Peake, allrounder Liam Scott and spinner Joel Davies earning maiden senior call-ups.

The squads feature several notable absentees, including pace trio Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, who will focus on preparing for the upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh after recovering from injuries during the IPL.

Veteran allrounder Glenn Maxwell was also left out of the Bangladesh T20I squad and is set to play in Major League Cricket in the United States alongside Steve Smith. Marcus Stoinis and Matt Short are among the other experienced names missing from the T20 setup.

Australia named 24 players across the three squads as selectors look to test emerging talent in subcontinent conditions ahead of a busy international schedule.

National selection chair George Bailey said the tours would provide valuable opportunities for new and returning players.

Nineteen-year-old Peake earned selection after impressive performances for Victoria and the Melbourne Renegades, while Scott’s strong domestic form, including a Sheffield Shield-winning campaign for South Australia, helped secure his place.

Davies also forced his way into the T20 squad following a breakout Big Bash season with the Sydney Sixers.

Fast bowlers Spencer Johnson, Riley Meredith and Billy Stanlake also return to the national setup after injury layoffs.
