Bangladesh captain Litton Das believes the team has moved on from the disappointment of missing out on the last T20 World Cup, as they prepare for the upcoming series against New Zealand in Chattogram.

Speaking at a pre-series press conference, Litton said the players have already shifted focus by participating in other tournaments and are now fully committed to delivering strong performances.

“Every international match is important. The players will go in with the mindset to win and give their best for Bangladesh,” Litton said.

This will be Bangladesh’s first T20I assignment since the World Cup, with Litton continuing as captain for another two-year term. Looking ahead, he emphasized long-term planning with the next global event in mind.

“Our main target is the World Cup. We know it won’t be in Asian conditions, so we have to prepare accordingly. We had good bonding and preparation last time, and we want to build on that,” he added.

Bangladesh begin the series with a relatively new-look pace attack, with senior bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman rested. In their place, uncapped players Abdul Gaffar and Ripon Mondal have been included.

Litton explained the decision as part of workload management and future planning.

“We don’t want them playing continuously and risking injuries, especially with important ODI and Test matches ahead. That’s why we are making some changes,” he said.
