Pakistan have named a 16-player squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia, set to begin on January 29.

The series will serve as an important tune-up ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Senior stars Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi have been recalled to the T20I side after missing Pakistan’s recent series in Sri Lanka.

All-rounder Shadab Khan has also returned to the national setup following a six-month absence, strengthening Pakistan’s spin attack alongside Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Tariq.

Both Pakistan and Australia are former T20 World Cup champions, Pakistan lifting the trophy in 2009 and Australia in 2021, and the three-match series will be their final assignment before heading to the World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan T20I squad: Salman Ali Agha (c), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan and Usman Tariq.
