Pakistan-born USA fast bowler Ali Khan has been refused an Indian visa for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The 35-year-old, who hails from Attock City in Pakistan’s Punjab province, shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday (January 13), posting a photo of himself with the caption: “India visa denied but KFC for the win.”

The pacer has previously played in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders, but this time he has been denied a visa.

Following the post, the issue of India’s visa complications has once again come into the spotlight. Recent reports suggest that cricketers of Pakistani origin or those holding Pakistani (green) passports may face significant difficulties in obtaining Indian visas.

US journalist Peter Della reported that three more cricketers are on the list of players who were denied visas. They are Shayan Jahangir, Ehsan Adil, and Mohammad Mohsin.

Earlier, sources had indicated that several associate nations, including Italy, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and the United States have players of Pakistani origin or with dual citizenship in their squads.

It has been learned that these players are encountering various problems while applying for visas for tours of India.

The cricket boards of these five countries have formally sought guidance from the ICC. However, so far, they have not received any response from either the ICC or the BCCI.
