The series will begin on January 7 in Dambulla and conclude on January 11.
Opener Khawaja Nafay has earned his maiden call-up to the national T20 side. He is currently representing Rangpur Riders in the BPL. His teammate, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, has also been included in the squad for the Sri Lanka tour.
From Rajshahi Warriors, opener Sahibzada Farhan and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz, both regular members of Pakistan’s T20 setup have retained their places in the squad.
Additionally, two Pakistan players representing Dhaka Capitals in the BPL will have to leave the tournament early to join the national team.
Wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan and pacer Salman Mirza have also been named in the T20 squad.
Meanwhile, Saim Ayub, the opener currently playing for Sylhet Titans in the BPL, will travel with the team to Sri Lanka as well.
However, despite selecting several BPL-based players, the PCB has opted to rest key stars Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali, all of whom are currently involved in the Big Bash League, from the upcoming T20I series.
