They will now assemble for a two-week preparation camp before competing in the tri-series in Sharjah from 29 August to 7 September. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with Afghanistan scheduled to play four matches at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and a final to be held if they qualify.

In the Asia Cup, Afghanistan have been drawn in Group B alongside Hong Kong, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Their campaign will begin on 9 September against Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi, followed by crucial fixtures against Bangladesh on 16 September and Sri Lanka on 18 September.
