After rain delayed the start and reduced the match to 13 overs a side, Lahore made full use of the batting-friendly conditions, riding on a blazing start from Emon and Mohammad Naeem.
Opening the innings, Emon smashed 45 off just 19 balls, hitting 2 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate of 236.84. The Bangladeshi left-hander took charge early, helping Lahore storm to 86 in just 5.1 overs before he was dismissed by Muhammad Ismail.
Emon and Naeem gave Lahore a dream launch, with the pair tearing into the Multan bowling attack from the outset. Naeem then carried on the assault and top-scored with 60 off 28 balls, striking 4 fours and 4 sixes.
The momentum was maintained by Abdullah Shafique, who hammered 33 off 14 deliveries, ensuring Lahore stayed on course for a massive total even after the openers departed.
Late cameos from Sikandar Raza (13 off 8*) and Asif Ali (8 off 5) pushed Lahore to a formidable total, while the batting side also benefitted from 23 extras, including 14 wides.
For Multan, Muhammad Ismail was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 47, while Faisal Akram and Peter Siddle claimed a wicket each.
