Speaking to the media in Mirpur on Monday, Rajshahi Warriors’ Neesham said he has been in regular contact with Williamson, who is currently playing in the SA20 league.
Williamson is currently playing for Durban Super Giants in the SA20, where he has scored 110 runs in 7 matches at a strike rate of 120.27, with a highest score of 40.
His participation, however, depends on Durban’s progression to the Super Four.
The team has managed just 3 wins in 10 matches and sits 4th with 19 points. Their playoff fate depends on the result of Johannesburg Super Kings vs. Paarl Royals, and if Durban doesn’t make the top four, Williamson could join the BPL straight from the qualifier.
“We talk regularly and have spent a lot of time together over the years,” Neesham said. “In the last few days, we’ve discussed the possibility of him coming here towards the end of the competition. He’s still playing in SA20, so it depends on results, but hopefully, fingers crossed, we can bring him to Bangladesh.”
