After representing Chittagong Kings last year, Nafay will turn out for Rangpur Riders this season and is eager to deliver another strong performance.
Speaking to the media in Sylhet on Sunday, Nafay said, “I was with Rangpur in the GSL, so it’s not a new team for me. But yes, Rangpur is a new team for me in the BPL. In Sha Allah, I have new goals. Just like I performed last year, I will try to perform the same way for Rangpur Riders as well, Inshallah.”
Nafay revealed that his BPL success earned him an opportunity in Pakistan’s National T20 Cup, adding that the league played a key role in introducing him to Pakistan cricket.
“I performed well last year, which helped me get chances in domestic cricket. After my performances in the BPL, people in Pakistan became aware of Nafay's existence. That’s how I got opportunities in domestic cricket,” he said.
Having earned his maiden call-up to the Pakistan national team, Nafay described it as a proud moment.
“Of course, this is a very proud moment for me. Alhamdulillah, I have achieved what I was working hard for, playing for my country. In Sha Allah, I will try to perform there as well,” he added.
