A reliable BCB source confirmed the development to Cricfrenzy. The two pacers have been cleared to play from December 3 to 23.
Mustafizur was signed by Dubai Capitals just a day earlier, brought in as a replacement for GM Ritesh ahead of the tournament, which begins in early December. Before him, Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed were picked up during the ILT20 draft.
Earlier, Dubai had initially recruited Mustafizur as a replacement for England pacer Luke Wood before abruptly terminating the contract and bringing in Haider Ali instead.
However, within a month, the franchise moved again to re-sign the left-arm seamer ahead of the new season set to start on December 2. Mustafizur also has experience playing for the franchise’s IPL sister team, Delhi Capitals.
In the draft, Shakib was snapped up by MI Emirates for his base price of USD 40,000, while Taskin was bought by Sharjah Warriors for USD 80,000. As a result, three Bangladeshi cricketers—Shakib, Taskin, and Mustafizur, are set to feature in the upcoming ILT20 season.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is scheduled for December as well, though dates are yet to be finalized.
