Bangladesh’s Taijul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman have officially requested No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). A BCB source confirmed to Cricfrenzy that Taijul applied for permission to participate in the SA20, while Mustafiz sought clearance to play for ILT20.

A total of 23 Bangladeshi cricketers had registered for the South African SA20 auction, with 14 making it into the final list based on franchise demands. However, only one managed to secure a team during the auction held on September 9.

Durban Super Giants signed Taijul for 500,000 Rand. This marks the left-arm spinner’s first appearance in a foreign franchise league outside the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). According to BCB sources, no final decision has yet been made regarding the NOCs for Taijul and Mustafiz.

A BCB official said, “Both Taijul and Mustafiz have applied for NOCs. The tournaments are still some time away, so we have not taken a decision yet.”

Meanwhile, Dubai Capitals had already announced Mustafizur Rahman as part of their squad in a recent social media post. The ILT20 auction is scheduled for September 30, but Mustafiz was drafted earlier as a replacement for England pacer Luke Wood.

The fourth edition of the International League T20 (ILT20), usually played between January and February, will be staged earlier this year — from December 2 to January 4.
