The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has pushed back the third round of the National Cricket League (NCL) by one day to provide the national Test players with additional recovery time.

The third round, initially scheduled for October 17-20, will now take place from October 18 to 21, the BCB said in a statement on Saturday.

“The adjustment has been made to facilitate the availability of Test players for the third round by allowing them an extra day of recovery,” the board said.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play a one-off Test against Afghanistan in the UAE from October 9, followed by an ODI tri-series involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.

Players selected for the ODI series will remain in the UAE, while those not included in the ODI squad will return to Dhaka and join their respective teams for the NCL.

To accommodate the revised third-round dates without extending the overall length of the competition, the gap between the third and fourth rounds has been shortened by one day.

There will be no change to the fourth-round schedule, which remains set for October 24-27.
