The decisions were taken at the fourth meeting of the BCB Board of Directors, held virtually on Sunday.
Under the proposed restructuring, the BCB has agreed in principle to introduce a six-team domestic competition covering three formats, First-Class, List A One-Day and List A T20, under a single competition framework.
The board plans to offer team ownership rights to established and reputed corporate and financial institutions in Bangladesh for an initial period of three years.
The T20 competition is expected to be the first event under the new structure, with a tentative window set for December 2026.
The BCB has also approved revised match fees for players competing in domestic tournaments.
In men’s cricket, players will receive BDT 150,000 per Four-Day match, BDT 100,000 per One-Day match and BDT 80,000 per T20 match. The match fee for the National Cricket League (NCL) Second XI has been set at BDT 15,000.
For women’s domestic cricket, the revised fees are BDT 40,000 for a three-day match, BDT 30,000 for a One-Day match and BDT 20,000 for a T20 match.
The board also doubled the daily allowance for the Bangladesh Under-19 team from BDT 10,000 to BDT 20,000.
On infrastructure, the BCB approved the installation of an international-standard, IAAF-approved athletic running track at the National Cricket Academy ground at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The project will feature a three-lane specialised track to support cricketers’ fitness and training activities.
The board also approved upgrades to two alternative dressing rooms, the players’ entry area and the common lobby at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
In addition, two new dressing rooms will be constructed at the Mirpur stadium. The new facilities will be used for domestic tournaments, practice matches and other cricket activities, while the existing Pavilion Building dressing rooms will primarily be retained for international matches.
The BCB also approved the appointment of a consultant for architectural, engineering and project-preparation services related to the proposed renovation and development of Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura.
