Mustafizur played a key role in Lahore’s 69-run victory, returning impressive figures of 1 for 19 in four overs, while Haris backed him up with 2 for 22 as Hyderabad were bowled out for 130 in pursuit of 200.
Speaking about his new teammate, Haris said Mustafizur’s global T20 experience makes him a valuable presence in the dressing room.
“Mustafizur Rahman plays T20 leagues all over the world. He has performed very well for Bangladesh. We are lucky to have him as part of our bowling line-up,” Haris said.
“I will also try to learn a lot from him. He has a lot of experience, and maybe something he says could really help you. Wherever I go, I try to learn. The learning process never ends, so I always try to pick up something new from someone who can help my game.”
On the field, Mustafizur showed exactly why he is so highly rated in franchise cricket. The left-arm seamer bowled with control and variation, using his trademark slower ball effectively to dismiss Irfan Khan and finishing with the most economical spell of the innings.
Haris, meanwhile, brought his usual pace and aggression, striking twice to remove Rizwan Mehmood and Hassan Khan, helping Lahore rip through Hyderabad’s middle order.
Together, Mustafizur and Haris combined for 3 wickets and just 41 runs in 8 overs, playing a major role in Lahore’s winning start to the tournament.
