Australia leg-spinner Adam Zampa suffered a minor facial injury after swimming into a pool wall at the team's World Cup hotel, captain Pat Cummins said Saturday.

"He swam into the pool wall apparently," Cummins told reporters on the eve of Sunday's blockbuster clash against hosts India.

"He said he had his eyes closed and thought he was swimming in a straight line and swam into the step in the pool. So, looks impressive. He's all good, just a little bit sore."

Zampa will be key to the team's plans on Sunday when five-time World Cup champions Australia face two-time winners India for the 150th time in ODI cricket.
