One of the Bangladesh Premier League franchises Sylhet Strikers, owned by Future Sports Limited, has revealed their team logo and named the former captain of Bangladesh Mashrafe bin Mortaza as their icon player in a dazzling show at Hotel Sonargaon on Wednesday.
The most succesful captain of the country said that he will give his A game to assist his team to seal the country's main T20 championship for the first time.
“I am confident I will give my 100% effort. I will try my best In Sha Allah…it is true Sylhet have never been champions. Sometimes they played well, other times they didn’t. Therefore since the beginning of our talks, we have discussed that the team management should be strong, along with the core of the team,” said Mashrafe to the media at the capital's hotel.
“We have tried our best. Now it all depends what players we get in players’ auction. Discipline and on-field performance, these things matter. With that said, we can understand better when we play as a team,” he added.
Sylhet has gone through a lot of ownership changes in the past while chasing their first title, and Mashrafe urged the new owners to retain faith in the squad in the long run.

“We are hopeful, everything is going according to our plans Alhamdulilah. The owners tried hard to construct the team with their budget. We have seen big ambitions before, but they could never stay for a long time. But I am optimistic the new owners will be there for a long time and help Bangladesh cricket in the process,” said Mashrafe.

Prior to the player auction, the four recruits were registered as direct signings.
The franchise also announced the names of the coaching staffs today. Former national team cricketer Rajin Saleh will work with the team as an assistant coach.
Syed Russell will be the pace bowling coach, while Murad khan appointed as spin bowling coach. Dolar Mahmud, another former pacer of the national team, will serve as the fielding coach.
