Bangladesh’s pace bowling prodigy Mohammad Saifuddin said on Monday that he is not following Jasprit Bumrah as he is well aware that they are two different bowlers.

The pace bowler added that he is bowling according to his strength when he was asked was asked whether he is following Bumrah in the media session ahead of the second warm-up game between Bangladesh and India, scheduled on May 28.

Both Saifuddin and Bumrah are fulfilling similar roles for their respective countries - bowling well with the new ball and at the death.

‘’Bumrah is bowling well with both new and old balls. I cannot bowl like him [Bumrah] at 145 kmp,’’ Saifuddin told reporters ahead of the warm-up game.

‘’My ability is to bowl at 130 or 135 and I am trying to do that. Every bowler have some individual skill and I am bowling according to my strength,’’ he said.

‘’At times I am successful and at times I am not. There are few English bowlers who are doing well and I just to follow them,’’ he said.

Saifuddin is expected to be playing his first game against India due to his recent performance and according to the pace bowler he is excited with the prospect

‘’Honestly speaking I am very excited about playing against India, I dreamt about playing against India since my childhood,’’ he said.

‘’Either I do good or bad its on the God’s hand. But I will try to give my 100%. The most important thing is that we have a match against them at the last part of the tournament, so this match is very important. If we can perform well in this match that will help us in the tournament,’’ he added.

In recent past Saifuddin had been a revelation in the national ODI set-up since he returned back to national fold with the home series against Zimbabwe in 2018 after being dropped following his dismal performances against South Africa at their back yard on his debut.

The all-rounder silenced his critics in his comeback game against Zimbabwe with the ball as well as his ability to bat and silenced the critics and since then growing from strength to strength with passing days.

Saifuddin is considered to be one of the major arsenals for Mashrafee in the World Cup as he is expected led the bowling attack in the just concluded tri-nation in Ireland and is likely to be given preferences over Rubel Hossain at least in the initial stage of the World Cup group stage
