"Very difficult question [whether they will be in future plans]. They have to prove themselves. Considering their age and performances, it's not my call actually but the selectors', so it wouldn't be right for me to comment. But it's not going to be very easy. We will sit with them both and hear their thoughts." Fahim told reporters after a BCB board meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday.
The experienced duo has faced mounting scrutiny in recent years for failing to deliver in crucial moments, particularly in major tournaments.
Their struggles were further highlighted in the ICC Champions Trophy, where Bangladesh exited in the group stage without a single win. Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah came under heavy criticism, especially for their shot selection in the match against New Zealand, which drew backlash from fans, media, and experts.
