"Very difficult question [whether they will be in future plans]. They have to prove themselves. Considering their age and performances, it's not my call actually but the selectors', so it wouldn't be right for me to comment. But it's not going to be very easy. We will sit with them both and hear their thoughts." Fahim told reporters after a BCB board meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday.

The experienced duo has faced mounting scrutiny in recent years for failing to deliver in crucial moments, particularly in major tournaments.

Although 39-year-old Mahmudullah has managed four half-centuries in his last 10 innings, 37-year-old Mushfiqur has endured a poor run of form, scoring only one fifty in his last 14 innings. His struggles with the bat have significantly affected the Tigers, leading to increasing calls for his exclusion from the squad.
