Revenge in Shakib's mind

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan is confident that Bangladesh will settle down few things against West Indies in the upcoming two-match Test series.
The Tigers were embarrassed at the hands of the same opponents during their last tour in the Caribbean earlier this year. They failed to make any impact in the Test series as the hosts cleanly swept them away inside three days on both occasions.
According to Shakib, they are well aware that a similar feat at home might hamper their Test ranking as West Indies are placed eighth while Bangladesh are at nine in the ICC Test ranking.

Interestingly, Bangladesh went to West Indies as the eighth placed Test nation but returned home lowering their standing and if they can beat the West Indian side this time, they will have the chance to regain the eighth spot – their best Test ranking so far.
“We are very close in the ICC ranking so naturally this series is very important for us,” said Shakib.
“They did well against us at their home so naturally we are aiming to play similarly at our own den,” he added.
Shakib warned his teammates not to take the opponents lightly, since they will put up bigger challenge than the Zimbabweans considering the strength they possess.
“Yes, obviously they are more challenging [than Zimbabwe]. We didn’t do well in the first Test. I am 100 per cent sure that West Indies series will be more challenging in all there sectors – bowling, batting, and mental. But I think we are habituated with taking these kinds of challenges,” he concluded.
