Shakib, who made a comeback after an injury layoff, made the announcement came during the pre-match press conference at Jahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium when his attention was drawn regarding his fitness status.

‘’I have to wait till the last minute[[before taking a decision regarding my participation],’’ Shakib told reporters ahead of the opening Test against West Indies.
‘’We all know how challenging it will be to play a five-day match. So there is still some confusion whether I have reached that stage or not because I have participated in only four training session. And from them two were optional so need to wait until tomorrow,’’ he said.
The Bangladesh all-rounder missed the series against Zimbabwe after a flare up of his long-standing finger injury.
The left-hander, who was ruled out of the Super Four Asia Cup match against Pakistan on Wednesday (September 26) after aggravating the fracture to his left little finger, boarded a Dhaka-bound flight on the same day.
