Halsall contented despite losing reviews

Bangladesh lost both of their reviews against Sri Lanka on
day-two. They managed to take only one wicket before the stumps were drawn on
Thursday. The Lankans are now trailing by 326 runs in the first Test in
Chittagong.
The Tigers’ assistant-coach Richard Halsall backed the team
regarding their decision of taking the reviews. On both occasions, the batsman
was Kusal Mendis and the bowler was Taijul Islam.
During a post-match interview with the commentators, Halsall
said, “We have to work on certain things. Everyone was confident during the two
reviews and the keeper also appealed with confidence.”

Halsall lauded the lower-order batsmen of the team. After
losing the important wickets on the second day, the tailenders kept ticking the
score by rotating the strike. Before getting out, Mustafiz made a 35-run
partnership with Mahmudullah to lift the total past 500 runs.
He stated, “This is a part of the game. Mustafiz played
beautifully at the end. But Sri Lankan players deserve the credit. They came
back fine during the second session. So, credit goes to them.”
