In recent years, payment disputes have been a periodic issue in both the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and DPL. Several players have previously complained about not receiving full payments despite contractual agreements. With the economic situation in the country impacting cricket finances, player salaries have been significantly reduced this season, raising further concerns.
Speaking at a trophy unveiling event in Mirpur organized by the BCB and the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM), Tamim addressed the issue directly.

"I believe Dhaka Premier League is the backbone of Bangladesh cricket. The quality of cricket and umpiring are important, but above all, clubs must ensure that every cricketer gets their rightful payment. That is the most crucial thing for me," Tamim stated.

Acknowledging the financial difficulties that clubs and players are facing, he added, "We all know that the situation in our country is different now. Cricketers have suffered a lot, whether it’s in the BPL or DPL. I hope the clubs fulfill their commitments and pay the players as agreed. This should be the top priority."
Reports suggest that player salaries in the DPL have been significantly reduced compared to last season. Players who previously earned 30 lakh BDT have reportedly signed contracts for 20 lakh BDT this year.
Given the circumstances, players have reluctantly accepted the pay cuts, but they expect to receive their full payments without any delays.
Abahani Limited captain Mosaddek Hossain Saikat echoed similar sentiments, acknowledging the sacrifices made by players. "Cricketers have made significant sacrifices this time. They have accepted lower salaries than expected. At the very least, they should receive the full amount that was agreed upon," Mosaddek urged.
