Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Das will feature in the upcoming edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), having been signed by Galle Gladiators for the new season.

The franchise confirmed Litton's signing through its social media accounts. While the details of the deal have not been disclosed, it is understood that the Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batter has joined the side on a direct contract.

It will be Litton's return to franchise cricket after a considerable period. In 2023, he played one match for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The same year, he was part of Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), but an injury forced him to return home before the tournament began.

Litton has also represented Surrey Jaguars in Canada's Global T20 League. Earlier, he played for Galle Titans in Sri Lanka and featured for Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Apart from his batting, Litton is a key contributor behind the stumps. In international T20 cricket, he has scored 2,702 runs in 120 innings at an average of 23.49, with a strike rate of 126.79 and 16 half-centuries.

So far, three Bangladeshi cricketers have confirmed their participation in this year's LPL.

Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed will play for Jaffna Kings on direct contracts, while Litton has become the third Bangladeshi player to join the tournament after signing with Galle Gladiators.

The LPL draft is scheduled to take place on June 1, with another 30 Bangladeshi cricketers set to be available for selection.
