The Bangladesh Premier League’s (BPL) Dhaka phase faces uncertainty after the Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) called an urgent press conference to press for the resignation of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director M Najmul Islam.

Despite the players’ demand, Najmul has not stepped down so far.

As a result, cricketers from Noakhali Express and Chattogram Royals did not arrive at the venue to play the opening match of the Dhaka phase.

Although teams are required to reach the ground at least two hours before the match, the players were staying at their hotels.

A reliable source confirmed the matter to Cricfrenzy, raising serious doubts over the commencement of the BPL’s first match in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, players from six teams are gathering at a five-star hotel in Dhaka to decide whether they will continue participating in the BPL.

They are scheduled to hold a press conference at 1:00 pm.
