Faiazur submitted his resignation after the BCB board meeting on Saturday (April 4), adding to the growing changes within the country’s cricket administration.
He had been serving as the head of the BCB’s disciplinary committee. He was also the vice-chairman of the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM), the body responsible for organising Dhaka’s domestic league competitions.
Faiazur was elected to the board in October last year from the club category.
Before his resignation, three other directors from the current board had already stepped down — Ishtiaque Sadeque and Amzad Hossain, both elected from the club category, and Yasir Mohammad Faisal, who had been nominated by the National Sports Council (NSC).
The latest resignation adds to the uncertainty surrounding the BCB board, which has been under discussion and scrutiny since last year's much-talked-about election.
That election saw 23 directors elected across three categories, but a series of exits since then has raised fresh questions over stability and continuity within the board’s administration.
