Shehan Madushanka,
following his hat-trick in debut, joined the group of four that consists of
Taijul Islam, Kagiso Rabada, Wanidu Hasaranga who achieved that feat. However,
the fast bowler is doubtful for the upcoming Nidahas Trophy which involves the
host – Sri Lanka along with India and Bangladesh.
After sustaining a hamstring injury during Sunday night's
T20 win over Bangladesh, Madushanka is yet to undergo an MRI scan. Following
the MRI report, the severity of the injury will be determined.
The Lankan quick picked up 2 wickets allowing 23 runs in
their last T20I against Bangladesh. Dushmanta Chameera alongside Lahiru Kumara,
Lahiru Gamage, and Suranga Lakmal could be in contention to replace the
fast-bowler if Madushanka is absent from the tournament.
