The National Sports Council (NSC) has brought changes to its nominated representatives in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Following the BCB elections held yesterday, the NSC removed its nominated director Ishfaq Ahsan, reportedly due to his affiliation with the ruling Awami League, according to reliable sources.

In his place, corporate leader and women’s sports organizer Rubaba Dowla Matin has been newly nominated as a member of the BCB Board by the NSC today.

Rubaba currently serves as the Country Director for Oracle Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. Previously, she held senior executive positions in leading telecom companies such as Grameenphone and Airtel.

Her involvement in sports has been longstanding. From 2009 to 2015, she served as the President of the Bangladesh Badminton Federation and has also been a Board Member of Special Olympics Bangladesh.

During her tenure at Grameenphone (1998–2009) as Chief Communication Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, she played a prominent role in promoting cricket as a sponsor representative.

Notably, in 2007, Rubaba played a key role in establishing the National Cricket Academy in Mirpur, a joint initiative between Grameenphone and BCB.
