The ICC released its weekly update on Tuesday, highlighting notable progress for several Bangladesh players.
Alongside Sobhana, captain Nigar Sultana and Dilara Akter have also climbed the batting rankings, while bowlers Nahida Akter and Swarna Akter joined Marufa in making gains.
Bangladesh qualified for the main tournament by winning all seven matches in the qualifiers, with Sobhana playing a pivotal role.
The middle-order batter scored 262 runs in seven innings, the highest tally ever by a Bangladesh batter in a single series or tournament. No other Bangladeshi player has previously crossed the 200-run mark in one event.
Sobhana featured in three matches last week, scoring 59 against Thailand, 47 versus Scotland, and an unbeaten 33 against the Netherlands. Her performances helped her jump 16 places to 36th, her best-ever ranking in T20Is. Her previous highest position was 52nd.
Among Bangladesh bowlers, Nahida Akter impressed with figures of 3 for 10 against the Netherlands, earning an eight-place rise to 28th. Only Rabeya Khan, ranked 14th, sits above her among Bangladeshi bowlers.
Leg-spinner Swarna Akter, who took five wickets in her last three matches, surged 43 places to 74th.
The biggest jump, however, came from pacer Marufa, who claimed three wickets each against Thailand and Scotland, followed by one against the Netherlands. Her haul propelled her up an astonishing 206 places to a joint 92nd position.
In the T20I all-rounders’ rankings, Swarna also moved up 17 places to 27th, making her the highest-ranked Bangladeshi in that category. West Indies captain Hayley Matthews continues to lead the all-rounders’ list.
