Despite being the official host of the tournament, India will operate the event under a hybrid model, meaning Pakistan's matches will be played entirely in Sri Lanka due to ongoing diplomatic tensions.
The league stage will comprise 28 matches, followed by three knockout games. The matches will be hosted across five venues: Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo.
The first semifinal will be played on October 29 either in Guwahati or Colombo, depending on Pakistan’s qualification status. The second semifinal is scheduled for October 30 in Bengaluru. The final is set for November 2 — it will be held in Bengaluru if Pakistan do not qualify, but shifted to Colombo if they do.
This is the first time since 2013 that India will host the Women’s ODI World Cup. The format for the 2025 edition mirrors that of 2022, featuring eight teams in a round-robin format, where each team plays the others once. The top four teams will qualify for the semifinals.
Alongside hosts India, teams that directly qualified for the tournament include Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. Pakistan and Bangladesh secured the final two spots through the qualifiers in Lahore.
