Although Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are out of the race of playing in the playoffsin the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, CSK batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed that the atmosphere in the dugout is "pretty relaxed" and it didn’t feel like they are out of the tournament.
On Thursday, CSK registered their fifth win in the ongoing IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and made things tough for them as well. Notably, this is the first time that CSK wouldn’t play in the playoffs.

Gaikwad played a crucial knock of 72 before Ravindra Jadeja’s 31-run cameo took place and CSK chased down the 173-run target convincingly. Notably, Gaikwad had scored an unbeaten 65 in their last game and helped his team’s victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
"Obviously, I am looking to continue my form and win for the team, nothing else matters. Hopefully, we finish the tournament with a win and continue the momentum next year," Gaikwad told teammate Shane Watson in a video posted by iplt20.com.
"The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. It does not feel we are out of the tournament. The atmosphere during the first game and during this game was the same. It helps a lot," he further added.
Meanwhile, Shane Watson too applauded the youngster and said that it has been a privilege to see him bat who played so incredibly well and so composed as well. He also referred to his batting as “impressive".
CSK will play their final game of the cash-rich league against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday (November 1).
