SRH had won the toss and opted to field first. While in-form Shubman Gill played the second fiddle and started KKR’s innings with a slow 36-off-37, another opener Rahul Tripathi scored a quickfire 16-ball-23 to keep the scorecard ticking. However, the onus fell upon the newly appointed captain Eoin Morgan (34) and he did it quite well with the former skipper Dinesh Karthik (29) and their big hits helped them to put up a total of 163 after 20 overs.

While T Natarajan picked up the wickets of Tripathi and Russell, Rashid Khan and Vijay Shankar claimed Gill and Rana which also came with a good economy rates as well.

While chasing, Sunrisers Hyderabad openers experimented with a new opening pair with Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson. And they didn’t disappoint as they got off to a flying start. While Bairstow scored 36-off-28, Williamson scored 29.

Meanwhile, David Warner came down the batting order in 4th and steadied the ship with a superb 33-ball-47 along with the young Abdul Samad, who smashed a quick 15-ball 23. Ferguson’s 3/15 which included Williamson, Priyam Garg and Manish Pandey,  Cummins, Mavi and Varun Chakravarthy’s one wicket each and economical spell from Kuldeep Yadav restricted them within the same score 163 and the game went into super over.

Lockie Ferguson once again showed his calibre in the super over and restricted SRH inside two runs by claiming two wickets and KKR chased down the total with ease with Morgan and DK in the middle.
