Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan said On Monday tat they are mulling to resume domestic cricket soon.
Nazmul said that the decision to get cricket back to the field in Bangladesh came after BCB had decided ‘it is not possible to tour Sri Lanka for a three-match Test series under the terms that has been set by the host nation’ while BCB has already informed Sri Lanka Cricket that they can have further discussion on going forward with the series if the terms can be negotiated.

Bangladesh kept cricket suspended in the country since mid March due to the Covid-19 pandemic which saw this year’s Dhaka Premier Cricket League [DPL] get suspended after first round of matches.
“We have not thought of a replacement to the Sri Lanka series yet. One thing we want to do is to get cricket back to the field. Not sure if we will have any international team playing with us but we have ambition to start domestic cricket soon. It is yet to be planned but we will surely have cricket back soon. The coaching staffs will stay back; the cricketers are not playing for a long time now so we will plan something,” said Nazmul.
“We cannot manage all the clubs now if you ask me, but we will manage something involving say 40 or 50 players. We will have cricket back to the field let it be in any form but at the same time we need to have ensure their safety from Covid-19. We will have the game to the level we can control and we will have cricket back.”
Nazmul claimed that their decision of not touring under the terms set has already been relayed to Sri Lanka Cricket and that Bangladesh will not wait long for a reply.
“We will not wait long for them to reply. We have decided that it is not possible for us to this way and we have already started planning on things that needs to be to get our cricketers back to the field. If they reply soon its fine or else we will have our own set of plans and we will not get back from that,” said Nazmul.
