Khulna Tigers sign Pakistani pacer ahead of BPL

The latest edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to kick off on December 30, but with just five days remaining, several franchises are still busy finalizing their squads. Like other franchises, Khulna Tigers have focused on adding foreign stars at the last moment.

Pakistani pacer Salman Irshad will join the team for this season, a Khulna source confirmed the matter to Cricfrenzy. However, the number of matches he will play is yet to be decided.

Salman, who has previously played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Caribbean Premier League (CPL), also has BPL experience. In 2023, he represented Dhaka Dominators, taking 5 wickets in 5 matches. Last season, he played for Rangpur Riders, featuring in two games and picking up 2 wickets.

In addition to Salman, Khulna Tigers have also signed Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz and pacer Mohammad Hasnain. West Indies’ Oshane Thomas and England’s Lewis Gregory will also feature as foreign recruits.
Among local players, Khulna secured Mehidy Hasan Miraz through a direct signing before the draft. They have also retained Afif Hossain and Nasum Ahmed from the previous season.
