The Bangladesh cricket team will enter the new year aiming to close out 2024 with a clean sweep against the West Indies, having already secured the series with a 27-run victory in the second T20I in Kingstown earlier today.

The Tigers delivered an exceptional bowling performance, dismissing the hosts for just 102 runs in 18.3 overs while defending a modest target of 129. This victory, along with their narrow seven-run win in the first match two days ago, marked Bangladesh’s maiden T20I series triumph on West Indies soil.

Stand-in captain Litton Das, leading the side in the absence of injured skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, praised the bowlers for their outstanding effort in securing the win.
"I'm very happy, not only me but all the Bangladeshi people. We were looking at such a win," Liton said at the post-match presentation.

Taskin Ahmed finished as leader of the bowlers with three for 16 while Tanzim Sakib, Rishad and Mahedi bagged two wickets each. Litton gave credit to all the bowlers for applying their plan perfectly.

"Credit goes to all the bowlers. When we take wickets, whoever come to the bowling they give us wickets. It's all about a team effort. We are in the good flow at the moment and we have to come and play good cricket again," Litton added.
The third and final match of the series is scheduled to take place at the same venue on Thursday morning (Bangladesh time).
