South Africa announce strong squad for Pakistan ODIs

South Africa, led by Temba Bavuma, has announced a formidable 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan.

The team sees the return of Kagiso Rabada to the ODI setup for the first time since the 2023 Cricket World Cup, while David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen rejoin the squad for the first time since December 2023.

Notably, this marks the maiden ODI call-up for promising young talent Kwena Maphaka. The 18-year-old, already experienced in T20Is, was named Player of the Tournament at the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup earlier this year, where he impressed with 21 wickets at an exceptional average of 9.71.

The pace attack includes Ottneil Baartman, with Marco Jansen and Andile Phehlukwayo providing all-round options.
