Bangladesh were bowled out for 253 runs in 73.2 overs on Sunday's opening day of their two-day warm-up match against the West Indies Select XI at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
Hasan Murad struck early for the Tigers, dismissing home captain Kraigg Brathwaite for a duck. The West Indies XI ended the day at 5-1.
Bangladesh’s top-order struggled to find stability in this preparation match ahead of the first Test, starting on November 22.
Despite the Coolidge pitch lacking pace, the extra bounce proved challenging. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy was dismissed for 8 off 19 balls in the sixth over, edging a length delivery from pacer Shaaron Lewis to the slip fielder.
Zakir Hasan looked steady until he edged a full-length delivery from Jair McAllister to slip, departing for 15 off 34 balls.
Former captain Mominul Haque and Shahadat Hossain Dipu steadied the innings briefly, taking the team into the 14th over before rain interrupted play for over an hour. Upon resumption, the pair accelerated the scoring rate during a 47-run partnership.
Dipu was bowled by Justin Greaves for 25, while Mominul, adapting to the slower bounce, was dismissed for 31 off 58 balls after mistiming a bouncer from Nathan Edwards.
Litton Das contributed a brisk 31 off 55 balls, including four boundaries and a six, before retiring to allow others to bat. Jaker Ali top-scored with 48 before retiring hurt, while Mahidul Islam Ankon added a valuable 41 before also retiring hurt.
