Ian Bishop impressed by Nahid Rana’s pace

Bangladesh young fast bowler Nahid Rana, who has already played five Test matches, made his ODI debut today against Afghanistan at the age of 22.
Just as he impressed with his pace in Test cricket, Nahid grabbed attention in ODIs as well, consistently bowling around 145 km/h on Sharjah’s slow pitch and even hitting a top speed of 151 km/h.
Rana’s control in his debut ODI spell was equally impressive as his pace. He also bowled Sediqullah Atal for his debut wicket.
His performance captivated former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop, who was himself known for his pace early in his career. Bishop is now an enthusiastic commentator and is especially thrilled by young fast bowlers.
Today, seeing Rana’s express pace in his opening spell, Bishop shared his excitement on his X account, advising that young pacers like Rana be carefully managed to keep them injury-free.
“Bangladesh should be proactive and hire the best Strength and conditioning expert and dietician they can afford and attach them to Nahid Rana in particular, and their fast bowling group. Very impressive pace.” Bishop wrote on X.
