Shanto repeats same excuses after humiliating India series sweep

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto once again cited same reasons to explain the team’s humiliating defeat against India in the final T20I of the three-match series in Hyderabad yesterday. Bangladesh suffered a heavy 133-run loss.
India’s opener Sanju Samson delivered a spectacular performance, combining finesse and power to score 111 off just 47 balls, including 11 fours and 8 sixes.
“We didn't play our best cricket. We didn't execute our plans as a batting group in all three matches. Bowling-wise, couple of overs we bowled well in some of the matches. Today all the bowlers didn't bowl well. It is very important that we believe in ourselves that we can compete against any team,” Shanto said in the presentation.
Throughout the series, Bangladesh's shortcomings in skill, planning, and self-belief were glaring. Shanto urged his players to recognize these flaws and take accountability for their performance.
While Towhid Hridoy's unbeaten 63 off 42 balls and Litton Das's 42 off 25 offered some resistance, they did little to mask the embarrassment of the defeat.
“We have to change a lot of things, especially the home wicket. Players need to take responsibilities. (Positives) The way Hridoy batted today was impressive. I really like all the seamers, they tried to execute their plans. The top-order batsmen need to improve a lot” he added.
