Temba Bavuma has been ruled out of the first Test against Bangladesh due to a muscle strain in his left triceps.

Aiden Markram will captain South Africa in the Dhaka Test starting October 21.

Nandre Burger was also ruled out earlier, leading to Dewald Brevis and Lungi Ngidi being added to the squad.

Bavuma will travel with the team to continue recovery ahead of the second Test in Chattogram.

Brevis, yet to debut in Tests, and Ngidi strengthen the squad alongside Rabada, Paterson, and all-rounder Mulder.
