Shanto finds positives in bowlers

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was content with the performance of the fast bowlers in the first Test match against India despite a scathing 280-run defeat.
Shanto lauded pacers, especially Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud who shared nine wickets in Chennai. Shanto highlighted the positives from their bowling unit, especially with the new ball.
Nevertheless, the Bangladesh captain admitted that the Indian batsmen quickly took control over the Tigers by showcasing their expertise at the crease.
"The positive is how Taskin, Hasan bowled in the first 2-3 hours but India batted really well after that. Seaming options was the biggest positive, we've bowled really well with the new ball but need to continue that," said Shanto after the match.
Shanto top-scored for Bangladesh with 82 runs and said he was satisfied with his contribution, but he remained hopeful for other batters to step up in the second Test.
"As a batter, I always try to contribute, I enjoy my batting. Tried to bat as long as we could today and play to our strengths. Kanpur is important. Bowlers did well, hope batters do too," he added.
