Bangladesh Cricket Board President Faruque Ahmed clarified that Tamim Iqbal's recent visit to the BCB office was just a casual visit where he and some other national team players.
A few national team cricketers met with BCB President to discuss the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League at the BCB office on Thursday including former captain Tamim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das and others as they suggested that even if their salaries were reduced, they wanted the BPL to be organized smoothly.
Today, BCB President was questioned about Tamim’s presence at the meeting during an event at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, where bonuses were distributed to the players for their series win against Pakistan. In response, Faruque said, "Tamim was present. Since I became president, I haven’t had the chance to sit down with the players. This was their first time coming to meet me."
"Given the current challenges, we discussed how to organize our leagues, including the BPL, on time. The players had some suggestions, and we talked about what can be done," he added.
When asked if Tamim had formally retired, Farooq Ahmed clarified, "He came as a player. Has he retired from cricket?"
With recent activities of Tamim social media went abuzz with his possible role as a BCB director also following the resignation of Khaled Mahmud Sujon who was elected from the captain category.
